Motec ems???

Hey guys I just picked up a turbo kit from a member on this board. It came with a motec ems. It is the m4 model. Does anyone know anything about this unit?? Does it work with our cars ?? Ill be getting it dyno tuned at a local shop so I wont have to really do anything with it. I just want to make sure that it works with our cars!!!

he never had it installed on his car yet. But he bought if offa guy who had it on his mazda. So I guess it should work. I was just wanting to see if some one was using this same ems. I have seen someone with a miata using it but not a protege.

Ill try my best to see what kind of car it was on before. It has to be a 2.0 L sense the manifold is a stock msp manifold, hopefully I can get this figured out. Ill ask the shop Im planning on having do all the work if they know anything about it also.

Ive talked to some one who had the same ems on a miata. he said as long as I have te pig tail,
I can get a harness made to wire it up to my car, now how much that will cost who knows!!!

u can make a harness for practically anything. that doesnt answer if it will work with teh protege ecu...

something with positive trigger ignition i heard makes it so most EMS other cars use doesnt work on a protege, but eh, i dont know for sure

i'm pretty sure motec can work on anything. im sure it would run your fridge at home if you =)

well i hope it works on everything including my protege. If I cant control the timing with the ems I will trade my mp3 ecu with some one for their regular ecu. So Im sure that aspect of it wont be a problem.

Dude that is some full on race s***! No joke, you might be better off selling it unless you can find a real race shop that has experience with these. Now I'm no expert but I think this is not going to control ANY car systems besides the engine (i.e. no A/C, umm what else? no auto, maybe other stuff). But it is standalone engine mgmt for racing.
