everyone on the forums gets vtcs and vics confused. vtcs is bad, vics is good.
vtcs are the butterflys that sit half closed at start in oredr to reduce start up emissions... they just get in the the ay and tumble the air...
vics how ever (variable intake charge system) is actually an extra airway in the manifold that opens up at a certain RPM (4k i think) and extra space allows the engine to resonate the intake air better at higher rpms. (think of this varying engine piece as the mazda vtec... ha)
as u should know, thats how one intake or exhaust or header can be better, by having better resonating properties, or the property to make perfectly timed sound waves, esentially pumping air into the cylinder at the exact time that the intake valve is opened...
its like when u lower ur back window on the highway and feel that pumping... same thign essentially.
