I was wondering what kind of support the Japanese domestic market gets with aftermarket products for the P5 and MP3. I assume that there is a rich product base and aftermarket support in Japan.

When aftermarket products are developed, do they originate in the country of origin and then suppliers pick up on the product in the US, or do US companies typically just build the products themselves?

Just curious, since many aftermarket products for BMWs come directly from Germany.

it really depends on the product....as there are many of the parts that are truely interchangeable....and some are not due to differences in the cars that we really don't see. such as the way some of our stuff is wired...that sort of thing....and just like we can't just get a JDM ECU and plug it in....that sort of thing...SO many of the aftermarket products have to be specifically taylored for the cars in OUR market.
