more boost

i'm running stock boost with a boost gauge and i'm hitting 0.4 bar w/ spikes to 0.5, or in psi it would be 7 psi w/ spikes to 8psi.

I have the Blitz TT/Boost Gauge, running stock boost, w/flash and it holds around .40hkpa under load, sometimes spikes to .44-.45...Little bit less than pre-flash, but much more linear power.

The car is new, the motor is not. Mazda has been using them in Mazda cars (and the Ford Probe SE/GL) for the past 10 years. And people have been messing with them for almost as long.

I believe the World Challenge guys are getting something like 240whp all motor in their Proteges.

By the way... Things like what the injectors and fuel pump are capable of handeling is something anyone can figure out in a matter of minuets. You just need to know the sizes.

Remember that the WC cars rebuild there motors after every race and their compression is 13:1. i believe that they only run 100 octane though

Even my Z28- people tell me all the time "you are going to blow the stock rear running those times" or "there is no way the stock trans can handle that" You need to know the limits and drive accordingly.

What year Z28? And what mods? Also A4 or M6?

Wow, you got one of the "good" ones :). Mine was 5 psi with spikes to 5.5 :).

94 Z A4, 396 stroker, mild cam, AFR heads, full exhaust, etc.. With the current combo, it runs 11.9@115 on the motor and 11.1@126 on a 150 shot. It was faster two years ago when it had a much larger cam and better heads, but I wanted more of a street car so I "de" tuned it and used a bottle to make up for the difference :). Since I don't drive it as much as I used to, I am going to re cam it this winter and get a different set of heads, bigger throttle body, bigger headers and a different exhaust setup and possibly some weight reduction. I want 10's on the motor- it used to be 11.3-11.4 on the motor a couple years back..

I have a friend in my car club who built a 414ci motor on the bottle. He is hoping for low 9's:eek:

leaking cv boot does not equal a weak axle. Not that they aren't weak, but the two are not even related. Also, it is all about "finesse"- I never broke anything and had the fastest times/highest HP for a while there :). Even my Z28- people tell me all the time "you are going to blow the stock rear running those times" or "there is no way the stock trans can handle that" You need to know the limits and drive accordingly. I can get in a bone stock MSP and break it before I even left the lot with it if I wanted- but the idea is to go fast, not beat the snot out of it.. Hell, I even speedshifted mine all the time with no trans issues. You just need to know "how" to do it without damaging anything. Takes a certain feel I guess :).

true true....

about your z28.... the 10bolts are not the best...but if you treat it well it will last... I run them in both of my cars....and they both make over 500rwhp and I have had no problems so far... and the t-56 will take a hell of alot of power....

the MSP should hold up well to some good power

Exactly- it is all about "style", not abuse :).. I went 11.9@116 in one of my old DSM's on a stock clutch and 3 bolt (weaker axles) rear when everyone said you need the 4 bolt rear just to go 12's!! The clutch was a fluke though, they normally don't hold that well...
