This is my 3rd. car with moon-roof/sun-roof package. However, its the 1st. one which doesn't automatically close the window when powered off! Essentially, I accidentally left the sun-roof open today, went to Wally came back to find the inside drenched. This is bad, bad....................

Geez, do you want to car to drive itself too. You have to take some responsibility.

The glove box doesn't self-close either. (dunno)

I've noticed bmninada is a new member with a lot of complaints. Wonder if he works for Honda or Toyota.

lol, this has to be your funniest/strangest complaint so far

The windows don't close themselves either! *fist shake* MAAAZZDDAAAAA!

WLONG: If you think this is a complaint, you need to have your head checked. Secondly - before you start up something confirm whether its really the case here. Let's see: Rear view mirror does not have compass. +1 to you and that's because Mazda has 2 models so wanted to confirm. This thread, +1 to you. Raised the question on maintenance costs, which is standard responses like anyone would do. I see you also is not an angel, complaining about TPMS sensor. If I look at ALL my responses, my so-called COMPLAINTS is much less than all the other responses I have provided.

As for the remaining responses, multiple times I have actually spoken highly about CX-5 and also self-reported when the braking thing actually worked.

No .. I don't need the car to drive itself. Having a glove box not self close does not harm anyone. However, getting flamed is great I guess in responses.

I agree if I was the one reading it - would have sounded funny too. But it was not a joke coming to a drenched car. Its not HUMANELY possible to check every time the moon roof is left open or not. In my case, it was tilted up, not fully open with the roof slider open. So, it's actually difficult to realize it.

Windows are something that doesn't close on its own, agreed. But its something visible easily and we tend to correct it. Moon roof whether open or not, is not that easily visible considering also CX-5 is NOT a short car.

Also, all 3 cars where I had it (I frankly hate it but my family wants it) ALL self close. And I am not talking of Porche, Merc, BMWs. Had it in Hyundai - self closed. Mitsubishi: self closed. Jeep Cherokee: self closed. and Audi - friend's car.

A quick googling doesn't turn up many factory sunroofs that autoclose after ignition is off. Seems to be an aftermarket feature.

Hyundai - could be, since bought it from a guy, but the other two: definitely factory.

LOL... that's what my wife told me. C'mon: you could have/should have checked. You know the children - they'll just jump and open it and then forget it. Lesson learned.

Come to think of it - is this doable, i.e. the motor's there, everything's there. Some sort of relay (SPST) then no current motor will attempt to close it... just wondering.

Accessories stay active I think 30 sec. after power off. Also, this car is equipped with rain sensing sensor ... somehow if that can be routed to close moon-roof?

I think factories avoid this feature for liability reasons. I find nothing suggesting Cherokees have ever had autoclosing sunroofs. It's possible the dealer installed an aftermarket system, including an aftermarket roof on a trim level that didn't normally have it - did it have an alarm on it? Such a thing often comes with alarms.

Ah well, there's not much that can be done at this point. I'll leave it as-is with a lesson learnt tab and maybe a post-it on my steering wheel "CHECK SUNROOF"....

If you need to put a post-it on the steering wheel to check the sunroof maybe you shouldn't be driving.

If you really need to troll these forums, maybe you shouldn't be typing on this forum.

Leaving the sunroof open is a pretty common mistake. I see people doing it ALL the time. I even do it myself on occasion (but I'm lucky enough to have a garage to park in, so it's not a big deal.)

Oh, and to the OP - I think it's a safety related thing. I believe there are regulations in some regions in regards closing windows/doors/etc automatically in order to try and protect child fingers, curious felines, etc. ;)

I don't know what your major malfunction is but if you think I posted a complaint you need to re-evaluate. I was responding to somebodies question about TPMS and my response was verbatim.

Make sure the tire pressure in all four tires are good. If OK, try doing the TPMS reset. I believe it's to the left of steering wheel (mine is in my 2016).
I had the same problem around 900 miles. Did the reset and haven't been bothered since.

Far from a complaint in my opinion. Just informative.

I'm done here.

actually it is entirely possible to check every time with care, compassion, and sympathy for humans and animals.
I'm sure, absent any actual tests in car magazines, that PETA members do so as humanely as possible when they drive

and, probably humanly possible to remember also LOL (breakn)

I confirmed it. Long time back, had a displeasure of going thru a lawyer dealing with motoring stuff for my neice's car. Long story short - we ended up remaining in contact and he confirmed to me, that's the case in many states.

Then stop complaining that I complain. If you can state and I can state likewise too, irrespective of the fact whether it's right or wrong. I am not even mentioning the rather insinuating and/or sarcastic remarks you made about Honda/Toyota.
