Momo Shift Boots

Has anyone successfully installed the Momo shift boots on a Protege' 5? I just installed a Momo knob but it looks funny because the knob has a narrow base and the factory boot is wide so you can see the ugly part at the top of the boot. I'm thinking that a Momo boot would solve the problem but I don't know it mounts at the base.

The fitting of the momo boot is not a simple drop in. The attachment on the Leather boot is an elastic base that would fit other cars I've seen. however the P5 boot attaches with a series of slits in the leather. You need to cut the elastic off the base of the momo boot and replicate the slits to attach it. It takes a bit of time.

You might also want to consider cutting the boot down a bit. I did becuase with a short shifter, Kartboy, there was way too much leather there. Takes a bit of time but well worth it in the end. Send me a PM if you need more details.

I've got a Momo Boot...I keep the elastic part on mine just keep pushing down the interior trim till is keep the Boot down..

It's not hard at all...and nothing looks better than actually leather boot...insted of the cheap plastic one
