MOM is getting an RX-8

How cool is this. My mom has borrowed my car a few times and loved it and ever since I pointed out an RX-8 she has wanted one. Well she has a loooooow mileage honda accord now but it has been stolen and attempted stolen twice in the last 6 months so she wants a different car. Going tonight to test drive some and look to see what the dealer has. Anyone know what some of these are going for around the country. Base + auto? Well I just think it is cool that my mom is finally getting a car that she wants. And hey it's a another MAZDA...gotta keep it in the FAMILY.

if u get the auto with the 16in wheels and standerd trim it should be fairly close to the low 20k figures or depending on how they r selling right now possibly lower.. ive driven by the dealership a couple of times and they cant seem to sell them here.... but the auto is going to be slow as balls and doesnt rev like the rotory motors were made to but i guess they would still be fun in the twisties.. have fun

yeah I am still working on her for the 6 speed but hey she is 53 so just getting an rx-8 is cool for me. She also wants to look at the 350Z now, but I am holding out for the rx-8

auto rx-8 will be a fun little coupe for her to putz around, should be able to get one for a decent price.

i was at the dealership today and they were going for 25k base, not sure of auto though. it was 28-29k for everything i think.

Encourage her to get the RX-8, prior to buying my MSP, I looked at the 350Z. Looks cheap inside and no backseat. Didn't go any further. Last week I traded my MSP for a 6/s RX-8 Velocity Red and love it, I'm 43, no kids but a real cool aunt.

well found one at carmax and am getting it transfered here for her. Should be here in 10 days. Titainium/ Black Leather Auto/ Grand Touring Package/ Touring Package/ Sport Package. I can't wait for her to get it. She already borrows my car alot now I am going to have to come up with some more reasons to trade.Will post pics when it arrives.

so instead she bought a ford mustang. now the throttle position sensor has gone bad, the steering wheel is flaking away into oblivion and the coolant temp light comes on sporadically. hooray for dearborn!

What's the latest Funwagon?? Tell her I said the 6 speed is real smOOth shifting.
You're mom is kool. you'd be surprised...the Austin mazda dealership ran the numbers when it came to RX-8 buyers and like 75% of them are women!

Another plus was that our insurance went up $0 when we went from the Protege5 to the 8!!! We have State Farm and the insurance agent told me that they consider the RX-8 a four door 4 cylinder[equivalent because of the 1.3L]!!! ANOTHER pro for the RX-8!(rockon)

Yeah well I tried but couldn't get her to change her mind on the auto vs. 6 speed. She drove both but just doesn't want the stick. Hey for 52 she is pretty cool and this will only be her 2nd new car her whole life so I am excited for her. It is exactly what she wanted. BTW. Congrats on the 8 MSGirl. Glad to see you are keeping it in the family. Love the black. Hope all is well down your way as things are getting better here every day. Still working on my car and got big things coming so stay tuned.

If possible always go car shopping with your parents and prevent them from buying a ride you wouldn't even be seen in...can actually make your parents seem "cool"...
