My gf has a 1999 mazda 626 with a 2.5L and an automatic transmission. I am a jeep guy so the motor layout isn't familiar for me besides changing oil in it. She took it through emissions last week and the code p0400 showed up. According to my online research I need to clean the egr ports in the TB. I was about to remove it when I notice there was an elbow coming out of the intake hose right before the TB. It is on the very bottom of it. Whatever hose is supposed to run into the that elbow is no where to be found. If it is supposed to be blank like that let me know and I will pull the tb off and do my cleaning. Other wise if you can send me pictures or where it is supposed to go I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Having a hard time visualizing what you're talking about, but there's a resonator on the bottom elbow of the intake. The only other hose that I can think of feeds the little nipple on the valve cover, at least on the 4 cyl.

Does this picture help?
