went from a speed3 to an sti and miss my interior and my refinement and sti is having some small issues.. plain and simple i want a speed back but probably a 6 not a 3

Mazda interiors are awfully nice for their modest price point.

How serious are the STi's "issues?"

Yeah, the STI interior compared to the MS3 or MS6 isn't has comfy. But for the price when buying them brand new, you pay the extra $10-15k for AWD, power, performance. As for used, you're just paying for AWD/Performance.

So you got an 04' STI with mods? I bet the owner before abused the car and didn't take care of it. There was probably a problem or a problem waiting to happen to begin with. Hopefully you get it fixed.

i have to agree... i thought the interior was better than any other car in our price range, as well as cars a bit more expensive. and it seems fairly durable. i liked the fact that nearly every driver can find a steering wheel and seat setting that is comfortable. it's nice that they took tall drivers into account. it's a well thought out package. i wish it was easier to add a regular aftermarket radio. seems obvious given this car's target audience.

the STi seems to be a neat choice. i for sure considered it.... i didn't care for the mileage, and AWD doesn't blow my skirt up as much as everyone else. plus it was a bit more money. and ugly (IMO)... plus wifey is a subie hater for some reason.

other than that annoying dash buzz/rattle, and having to replace one of the side strips (it was put on a bit short and caught on the front door)... we have had 20k trouble free miles. had a MAJOR fun run to rockport yesterday (about 170 miles) to meet a buddy for a fly fishing trip. he brought his boat, all i needed were the rods, and lunch.... miles and miles of smooth, deserted texas blacktop. what a cool little car.

TOTALLY covered with bugs...

nothin to serious on the sti just a few lil kinks here and there. 04's have s*** struts so they pop alot and stuff.. and had an oil leak but i resolved it but i miss the luxury

hahaha man... and we're talking an 2004 model... i sat in a 09 sti and was still shocked that a car that costs into the 40k's can be sold with an interior like that... i literally just shook my head as i sat in the car.. the ms3 for its price is unbeatable literally in every aspect IMHO. interior + little kinks included (I wouldn't mind some of the 2010 features tho :P i.e. push start and that built in booost gauge)

the push button start is freakin Gucci baby!.

not familiar with 'gucci' but i assume that means cool? or 70s disco cheesy?

what is so cool about the push button starting? not trying to be a dick, just wondering what makes that so nifty?

i had push button starting on my jeep commando! :)

I had an '04 STi for a while back in '05. Cool car. Suspension is very rough and the car feels extremely low-budget compared to the MS3. DCCD and the brembos FTW though.

i would love one cuz im one of those ppl that has a bunch of s*** on their key ring...and that means it can jingle and rattle around, and get in the way of my knee (im tall). it would be sooo much better to get in the car, set the keys in the cupholder, and push the button and go.

on my Evo you never even have to take your keys out of your pocket. you get a foot or so from the car and it unlocks. then to start you just turn the key fob thing, but there is no key in it. i thought this was a stupid idea when i got the car. now i love it.

i fell in love with it after taking my father-in-law's camry for a drive. walked up, got in, started her up....all without taking the keys out of my pocket
