I bought my first one with 100 miles on it and totalled it with about 15K.
I then bought my second one with 22K on it and started modding it at 22K
I now currently have 28K on it.
My mods are as follows:
Performance: DGM ram air CF hood (w/modified NA protege SRI), Turbohoses hard pipes, Greddy type S BOV, Kartboy shifter mount bushings, Corksport bronzoil shift linkage bushings, Perrin 3" J-pipe back SS exhaust, Turbohoses SMIC, MAM SS tubular turbo mani, Nology ignition wire kit (blue), Denso IK22 plugs, MPI tuner
Suspension/Braking: Rotoworks cross-drilled/slotted rotors w/axxis pads, Corksport SS brake and clutch lines (blue), AWR front motor mount(M/T), Rota Attack bronze wheels w/ Toyo proxes TS-1 tires
Electronics/monitoring: AEM WB02 mounted in 03 MSP's M2G, HKS type-1 full auto TT, JL audio 8W3V2-D4 sub
Appearance: tinted windows, P7 deadpedal, Delivery Guy's custom shift boot, Hosetechniques universal SVH kit (blue), Dexter's hood prop kit, DG motorsports CF strut tower bar/engine cover/grill/mirror covers/eyelids,
Oils/fluids/filters: Amsoil 10W-40 High Performance synthetic, K&N HP1008 oil filter, Redline MT-90 tranny fluid, Motul DOT 5.1 brake fluid

2003.5, purchased in Dec 2003 for $15,900 with 486 miles.
Added an AEM CAI and Apex catless DP in July of 04. A unichip followed in Sept. 04, I had about 30 something thousand miles around this time. And since then, I have climbed up to 52,--- miles. And of those 52K miles, I have beat the s*** out of this car for about 30k of them. No known issues to date, except needing new bushings.

2003.5 purchased June of '03 for 20k with 8 miles on it. It is still stock with 6800 miles. No problems except for bushings.

bought mine march 17, 2004. had 4 miles on it, paid 15,500. I only have an a/f gauge and boost gauge, also satellite radio. Just hit 19000 miles this weekend. Have had the bushings replaced 3 times. exhaust replaced, alarm module replaced, and just this sat. I found out that the nipple connecting to the diverter valve on the turbo to IC pipe is falling off. so now I will have yet another trip to the dealer, unless someone can get me a sweet deal on some hardpipes 
BTW, none of these problems are because I abuse my car, I treat it like I gave birth to it.

I put 2k miles on it switched to Mobil 1 and added a MBC set to 12PSI. I am at 70k miles and I hammer the first 3 gears several times a day as well as taking every clear, tight, curve as fast as I can
I have the Desling clunk fix brackets. I am about to get an exhaust and a front motor mount. So far the dealer has replaced three sets of bushings and the broken exhaust other than that the car has been perfect.

That makes me smile. You make me feel good about owning an MSP. And give me hope about my car!
Bought my MSP brand new the very end of July '03 for $20,000 out the door. I started modding it maybe a week later. Currently have 34,000 miles on it (I'm forced to drive a lot thanks to work, school, living circumstances, family, etc) and have roughly .. $5000 worth of mods. And another $1000 or so to be dropped within a few weeks.

Bought brand new for cheap. Modded since 136miles. Has 13,921miles on it now. On its 3rd. motor in it, a couple of diff's, quite a few radios...etc. Around 5,200 in drivetrain modifications.
(fight)Yes young Jedi...have hope but alas my head unit did die. I forgot about that. Mazda did offer to replace it but since I was over 60k miles I would have had to pay a 100.00$ and wait for a month so I bought a Sony but as far as the motor/trans/lsd goes it has been pretty much bullet proof.4drboost said:
