Mil Eliminator

the idea behind the 1st and 2nd sensors is for the ECU to make sure the pre-cat is working by reading a change from the 1st to the 2nd sensors. if there is no change, the ECU adjusts the fuel/air mix and makes the car run way too rich cuz bad things happen if the car runs too lean. i dont know if it would make a difference if its plugged in or not if its not working

The 1st o2 sensor is also used by the ecu for the engine its self not just the cat. The 2nd o2 sensor is only used for the cat. I still dont think its a good idea to mess with the primary o2 sensor.

WOW neways you all took it way too far lol ok I did the non fouler trick and the car ran awsome but then the sensor went bad lol so I bought a new one (bosch) and it is too big to put back into the non fouler without drilling through the threads so I have resorted to the Mil Eliminator... lol
How bout resorting to getting the real sensor that does go back & fit & is just like the one that was there before when everything was working? If it doesn't fit the nonfoulers then how's it gonna fit in the pipe? They are the same as the threads on the nonfouler. How would that bosch sensor fit without the nonfoulers? Are you positive beyond whatever the guy told you that sold it to you that the one you have is even correct for our cars? The fact that it doesn't fit could be a hint maybe? Just a thought based on the rest of the thread & what has already been troubleshot.

who said anything about messing with the primary sensor?
and buddy is right, if the "replacement" sensor doesnt fit the non-fouler, it probably wont fit in the pipe

bad gas mileage and rough idle = misfire.

I drove my care for multiple YEARS without the second oxygen sensor even plugged in getting 36mpg all the way. Maybe there's a difference between having the sensor unplugged and having the sensor plugged in and having no cat so it gets mad.

It's the first sensor that controls fuel trim and crap though, weird.

i'm getting a rough idle...but a missfire will send the CEL right? i have no cel...still tryin to figure out my idle problem. :( it only started after i did the header. it vibrates the front seats and crap...it's idling around 400-450, i dont know if thats normal or a lil low.
