Mike's 2022 CX-9 Kuro Edition

Transfer case and rear diff fluid change is up next! Just need to get an extra bottle of SG1

Did an oil change yesterday using Kirkland 5W-30 and a Mazda OEM filter. Car is at 72k kms now.

72.5k kms, diff fluid and ATF drained and filled. Used Mazda OEM SG1 for the diff and Mazda ATF FZ for the transmission, new crush washers all around.

Sweet looking ride, Mike! I've been eyeing a CPO 2022/2023 CX-9 GT myself and aiming to get one sometime next year. I rented a 2018 CX-9 GT for a few days and I enjoyed driving and even the wife approved an upgrade as our next car. Can't wait for the upgraded goodies like the improved HD camera/hands free liftgate/ventilated seats.

Back in 2021, I bought a set of "universal" RallyArmor mudflaps for my other CX-9, but never ended up installing them, and they just collected dust in storage. My current 2022 didn't come with mudflaps, so I decided to install them this weekend, along with a set of wheel spacers. The car looks a bit more aggressive now. Wheels are pushed out just a few millimeters more than I'd like, but it still looks good to my eye. Turns out that due to the spacers and the slightly wider tires, one of the fasteners I used to secure the mudflaps will rub a bit on the tire when turning the wheel far enough, so I modified it slightly. With the spacers on, it seems to have minimized the fender gap enough to make it look like I lowered the car a bit, which is a nice added bonus lol.

I'm not really sure I like the mudflaps' overall appearance after installing them. I prefer the look of the OEM flaps, but they don't provide enough coverage. We'll see if I keep them on or try a different option. With my 2018 I was thinking I would just install them "on top" of the OEM flaps to extend the coverage.

Installed the Sprint Booster the other day. I took a little extra time to achieve a cleaner install than I had with the 2018. The wire for the controller runs from the pedal back towards the seat, then up and behind a plastic panel on the center console. It comes out at the steering column, and is mounted in place using double-sided tape. Mostly out of sight, but easily accessible.

I also installed the CorkSport air intake after giving it a thorough cleaning, and replaced the regular rear turn signal bulbs with LED bulbs. Lastly, gave it a quick wash last night. I sure do miss the machine grey metallic, but the black is pretty nice when it's clean.

Which model of the Sprint Booster do you have for the ‘22? I have a ‘22 Touring Plus. Thanks

I have the SBMA0053S. Originally bought for my 2018. I removed it when I traded it in, then installed it on the 2022 with no issues.
