the rotary engine does require a bit more care than a piston engine, and do not like being abused in an idiotic manner. but when cared for properly, it is very rewarding to drive

the rx8 shouldnt be fore the general public, only for the certified drivers that pass mazdas test on if your an idiot or not.. but on another note, that is one sexy ass car..

the whole fuel tank thing is also user abuse, mainly caused by revving the engine for an extended period of time WHILE STANDING.

if you drive like a normal sane human it is NOT a problem.

the recall is purely precautionary so the car is more idiot-proof (everything nowadays need to be idiot-proof, sigh )

I'm not going to be abusing this car, I dont rev engines for no reason, I love the way it sounded though. This car will only be on the road 4-6 months of the year, summer, spring, fall and will never go out in the rain.

I'd wait a year or so, there's discussion about making a 2 door rx 8 and a convertable version. I like the rx 8 but the 4 doors just kills it for me

mazda hides their plans well, but yes there are rumors of a 2 seater 2 door rotary coupe coming in 2007, but they are just that, rumors...
