Mid-Engine Conversion?

has anybody ever seen/done a mid-engine conversion on a P5? something along the lines of the renault clio V6 sport.

my next project is to give the p5 8 legs and turn it into a mechanical spider. (poke)



but on the serious side...that would be interesting to see someone do that.

well, for me at least, the boxster has some serious "coolness" issues. to me it's probably the gayest thing to come out of stuttgart that i know of. i'd even take a cayenne over the boxster.

and i just thought it would be an interesting engineering feat.

that isn't a very hard thing to accomplish.

around here,it's common to see jet cars at the raceway because you can get used engines for so cheap,and it's a easy project.

Dude, I know that. But, I said P5 not Sport 20. Remember we're in the US. Even if I were to convert my P5 to AWD it wouldn't be a Sport 20, technically. I understand where you're coming from. But, it'd seem more interesting to have an AWD P5 because it's not stock. It's something that would have to be created customly.

I understand the desire to make a challenging goal. Believe me, the 944 is going to be a challenge. But the end result of the project is a very much better than stock 944. I don't see how adding 600 Lbs and two more tires spinnning is a good thing.
