Microtech Library

And humorously I had a girl call me about 3 months ago and chew me a new one for having my car parked in front of her house on the street when I was trying to sell it and it blocked slightly the view of her for rent sign from one direction. She was SUPER b****y and I live basically across the street and down a little from her. I texted her that she could have asked nicely and I would have happily moved it as it wasn't a big deal. She texted back apologizing and said "sorry, I'm from the east coast and I forget that Midwest people are nice and you can just ask for things. That didnt work back home." So the NY coming through reminds me of that story. Funny :)

for tuning, i prefer to base tune from the laptop for sure. for small changes no the fly, i use my MT dash (since it's always in the car mounted on my dash)

what are the dimensions of the MT dash unit? Just wondering if you could make it fit where the minidisc or casset unit goes on our stereo head units.

you cant
:P
already tried that

and the display is a little bit too wide to fit even if you were to disassemble the whole thing..

could always try to find a smaller screen that works with it - lordworm, didnt you say it's a motorola or hitachi screen or something?

it uses a hitachi chipset from the information i've gathered... however i had my other microtech gear appart the other night (just snooping around to see if there were any features i could easilly gain access to ... hehe) and all chipsets have the information about them sanded off with wet and dry paper... making it all but impossible to reverse engineer things....so the SPECIFIC hitachi chipset you'd need i couldn't tell you :\

Interestingly - i heard from a guy who was writing some linux software for the microtech, that the microtech outputs the "screen" information to the hand unit from an internal list of tables... and all those tables output 4 lines.. so even though the microtech dash is only 2 lines, there are 4 lines of information being fed to it (the other lines have summarized information regarding the current state of the sensors, injector output etc... all written in short hand... like W:99 would be "water temperature, 99C" etc...) - so if you DID find out what chipset it used, you could very easilly run a 4 line display on it...

I'll see if i can find out more.... i haven't actually had my dash unit apart, so maybe we get lucky and the nice guys at microtech will have left us all the information we need.............

The hand unit is smaller and you could probably get that to fit. It does save maps too, 4 just like the dongle and the dash unit.

The more expensive dash unit doesn't store maps? LOL. I thought all the items did... the dash unit must be a display only then and not a programming item. Interesting/silly. we never deal in them so I don't know their specs etc, just ASSumed :)

You can program with it - but you can't store a map on it has no memcals. I'm not sure why that is the case...it does seem somewhat strange.

Bump.

I just reset my LT10S to the base 550cc map, and used some of Steve's corrections. I have the tune pretty good, but I'm getting a super lean condition (just showing dashes on my wideband) when letting off the throttle. Only during this time does it happen. Anyone have any ideas on how to correct this?

sounds like the decel feature... shuts off the injectors when coasting above 2000rpm and over a certain amount of vac.

Why wont it start driving me nuts what am I missing? Not to familiar with software yet.
