wow I look like a dork

It totally fits the picture. There's no way to look cool while you're holding a can of NOS up to your gas tank. (rockon)

ya sorry about the 10 car hold up, I was just going to have my girlfreind pull over to go get gas but didnt know what channel the group leaders were on to tell them. 2 ways are great for the drive by the way.

yea i should have been paying better attention it was at the end so I relaxed a little it I didnt even know until I heard steve on the talkabout it was cool that everyone stopped but it seems to be bitter sweet considering it gave us unwanted attention Im not blaming anyone and not saying we shouldnt stop to help but the lady bear wasnt happy we should install breakdown help rules so that 2 groupsdont needto stop to help things happen hell I sled off the road(2 drives ago) and if a l.e.o had been there that would have been really bad I really dont want this to be a blame post we just need to modify to keep this from happening again and maybe try to have different routes incase of areas of hevy law enforcement officers dont ruin it for us we all seem to have a great time and keeping this going would be great maybe the next one I ll attened Ill get a gas can for emergencies I want everyone to keep coming and having a good time

That's what it's all about!

I hope nobody thinks I was bitching, cuz I wasn't. I'm just saying that it was something new we hadn't accounted for and we could have handled it better. Live and learn.

Hopefully carrying a gas can won't be necessary because from now on everybody is going to have a full tank.

Right??

:D

We do need to establish a "breakdown procedure", though. I'll think about it and post something up.

sounds like you guys all had fun. My roommate Ben in the Protege 5 told me that it was a blast. Hey, running out of gas just made the event more memoriable. I am sure in the future, you guys all will remember this drive as opposed to the other ones.

Oh, I think they've all had one memorable thing or another. There's always some kind of drama with this group. (hand)

While running out of gas was memorable this time, in general that kind of thing ruins somebody's day.

I agree with the needing a basic set of rules for breakdowns/accidents. There is absolutely no need for more than one group to stop to help someone. That is the point of the group leaders and the radios.

As for finding alternate routes, good luck with that. It took me and others 4-6 years of occasional scouting to get what we have. It also took some new paved portions and resurfaced portions by the local governments to put it together. There are other roads suitable, but they are in need of repaving/reconditioning. That is why we don't use them. ;) Also in July/August they put "pea gravel and tar" down on the roads to resurfact them and we don't ride for obvious reasons when they do that. The surface is very loose and sketchy, especially on the bikes.

We rarely see too many cops out there. Our incident on the bikes was poor timing and unfortunate. Just keep the speeds down and don't do dumb stuff to draw any unneeded attention.

It's up to you guys on continuing. July and August are usually fubared for me. I actually may be taking the VP position on the eboard of my Ducati Club as the current VP is stepping down for work related reasons. The 17th may still be doable for me. I'll let you know for sure soon.

Damn, I wish I could join you guys. Goldwing, is there any way you can schedule the one in August on a Saturday?
