OK, this is kinda show off, but I went to the Miatas at Myrtle Beach IV event and got a 3rd place at autox there. Would've probably had first or second if I didn't hit a cone. Here are some shots from various photographers:

not even for hot laps around the oval track! makes some sense for autox anyway, nobody is running race tires, grip's only so high... but for hot laps, I know...

I must've erased half my right tires after 30-some laps...

it was an oval with cones set up that that pinched you in and pinched you out as you went around, so you couldn't get going too fast.

I think she competed, but she didn't make the top 8.

Finally installed the AEM intake (at the NEPOC spring "cleaning" meet). Bought it used, was missing a piece (elbow right after the MAF), hacked the stock piece together, the seller is sending a new piece in the e-mail.

Had to relocate the left side horn to the right side, as it hit the AEM intake.

Some updates!

So mid-summer last year (2010), I took off the JIC coilovers as they were poorly valved (and spring rate was too stiff in the rear vs the front). I installed Eibach/Mazdaspeed springs on black shocks, installed an RX-8 rear sway bar (so now the car has full RX-8 sport front and rear). Learned how to do and performed a home alignment.

The car became a freakin blast to drive!

One of the shocks blew, so replaced the front shocks w/ another used black OEM set.
