MI Fun Drive I '08 - April 12

Winty, it's up to you if you wanna bring your car, but like I said before, it will have no trouble on the route. We're not asking you to pull 1g in every turn, but I think its more fun in your own car. I did it with a piddly 130hp Protege with a stock suspension a half dozen times, never complained.

I wouldn't have any problem bringing it in bone stock form its just my two fronts are more along the lines of a winter tire, and my water pump is on the way out. who knows this is a month away, I'll see what I can do, sling some coke on the streets or sumpin.

A month away? Isn't it next weekend?

I think Kane is the only one here that can do that. :D

Lol... not quite. According to the official specs, it only pulls about .98g. :)

Of course, that depends on who you ask. Road & Track managed to get 1.03g out of it. (rockon)

But anyway... if it's just rain, we still run. It's the rain/snow that had me worried but that's been changed already. (thumb)

Well I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that I hope that next weekend is as nice as this weekend turned out to be.

i wish i could go, my car is still in the garage and i can't put insurance on it till after school which is another 3 weeks.

I don't want to be a downer, and I know it's 5 days away, but the forecast still looks rain/cold. I'm keeping my fingers crossed but if it does turn out to be bad, what does the following Sunday look like for everyone?

people just seam to be dropping like flies.

if I can't get some new tires by Friday I'm out too!
Who'd think that getting a good set of shoes would have
a week wait!!! i'm not out yet ... but it ain't look'n good.

I never said I was "dropping" the drive. Personally I don't think 40 and rain is the type of weather for an enjoyable drive. I thought it made sense to postpone the drive a week instead of driving in poor conditions, or canceling it altogether.

Saturday's forecast:
High 47
Low 37
Chance of rain: 40%

Showers. Highs in the upper 40s and lows in the upper 30s.

It was supposed to rain yesterday and never did, so lets hope they mess this one up too.

Well I guess if it's supposed to rain that will give me a chance to install the new KSport coilovers. I'd really love to test them out on this route. So when would another scheduled run be if this rain comes in?

sorry I wasn't referring to you, but myself.

According to the first post, the drive goes rain or shine. Only snow will cause a weather cancellation.

But if everybody weenies out cuz of a little water on the road, then it wouldn't make much sense to carry on. (evil)

We'll see...

The first or second drive last year or whatever the last drive I attended rained the night before and was misting the entire drive. It does suck a bit cuz you can't go teh_fastAr w00t! But its still fun.

I'd just like to say for the record, I will be doing this drive, as long as there is no snow. The forecast I heard said we might see some rain in the morning as a continuation of Friday's showers, but the temp will be close to 50. I've done drives in worse weather, so that isn't the issue. If you don't wanna go, please take your name off the list, no problems.
