I drove into work today and had no problem. Leaving work, I turn on the heater and music. Driving away, I smell burning and hear squeaking. I turn the heater off but the burning smell is still there, so I turn the music off and notice that the sound is coming from the rear. My first thought is the brakes. But application of the brakes actually makes the noise go away. Reverse also produces no noise.
I have Tein SS coilovers, jacked back up for winter and am riding on 16". I've had no problems all summer and this is my first winter. There's been snow on the ground for a while now and had no problems up until now. I also live in Winnipeg, Manitoba so it's always cold here. It's actually plus 1 celsius today but would that affect anything?
It's saturday and I had to get my car towed to the dealership which won't open till Monday. Any ideas on what it could be? I want to have an idea so the dealership doesn't tell me I need to spend more than I have to. I am under warranty (only 9000km as I bought the car in June)
