damn, its more like $400...what are the real advantages over the gt28r?

seems like some people might be interested in lopping $400 off teh cost of the kit and opting for the gt28r...

also, how does the Garrett GT2871R compare? its about the same price as the GT28RS, yet to buy an upgrade to this turbo from the gt28rs is $1,000(shocked)

The GT28R is good for roughly 300-350HP.It also requires velocity stacks($85) which attach to the inlet and outlet ports on the turbo. The GT28RS has slip fit inlet/outlets and is good for roughly 50-75 more HP over the R.
The GT28R is a great turbo and makes awesome power, but for HP,simplicity and turn around times we are staying with the RS.

Compare on the Sleepr kit, it's not a good choice. The compressor flows enough air to support 400-450HP while still running a T2 turbine. If the sleeper manifold was a equal length 4-1 header it would work very well. But since it's a log and is designed for 300 or so HP the 2871 will do no good. The manifold does not flow enough to support it.You could run it, but at high boost levels you will run into vert issues and high EGT's.
