Memphis SUBS!!!!! HELP

hey ive got some M2's and i need a amp i have a cheep one thats 1200 watts but if you look at the fuses on the back of the amp it has two 40's the audo shop here told me that means it is 800 watts max ne how i need a new amp they told me crossfire would be a good cheep amp i also heard that ma audio is good? i need a good amp for a good price what do you all recomend?

Have you tried hooking up your amp and subs? Don't buy something just because a guy at the shop told you to. Wire it up and see if you like how it sounds.

yeah i had the subs in my Z28 for a wile almost a year with the sony amp.
ive delt with these guys before and i know one of there workers personally. there pretty straight forward.

But they work at a shop...that sells audio gear. It is in their best interest to tell you that you need a new amp.

Do the speakers call for 1200 rms or max. If it is rms then a cheap amp rated for 1200 watts max will not be enough to power them and will most likely damage the subs from underpowering. Also, are the subs dual voice coil? What is the Ohm rating for each voice coil? That could be part of the issue. Most cheaper amps have a minimum over all Ohm load of 4 when bridged mono. Just a thought.

Also, why not try to find a Memphis amp. They are reasonably priced, most will run 2 if not 1 Ohm when bridged mono and it would match the subs perfectly. I have been running their 1100 watt rms mono amp at 1 Ohm for over 2 years and it has been great.

you cant go worng with buying a memphis amp. yes theyre reasonably priced but you will love the outcome of your purchase.

well what kind do you all recomend with my M3's??? when i got subs i didnt have money so i bought a cheep ass amp but now i have a lil cash? anyone wanna sell theirs lol?

also how can you tell if your amp is blown?
