Hey there. I already emailed the guy on this topic. See message below:

Hey there.
I haven't thought about the details yet but here's a few ideas
a. you keep your site as is and drop it on my webserver. everything stays as is. all I ask is that you put a link on your site somewhere to my domain URL like "hosted by protegemp3.com" or "visit protegemp3.com". just my props for hosting your site.
b. you keep your site as is but we both use my forum, which would then beecome 'the mazdamp3.com / protegemp3.com forum'. The forum could actually have 2 urls, one for each domain, but they both point to the same forum (like 'mazdamp3.com/forum' and 'protegemp3.com/forum' both access the same information). I think this is a good idea bc I have the technology, it seems you have the user base, we combine that for everyone's benefit, and go have a beer. But at the same time we can each choose what beer we want; we can work on each other's sites as we please.
c. we bite the bullet it and create a single website, webmastered by you and me. either domain would work. This may be a good idea because that would mean we'd have actually half the work to do. (I'm a busy person as I'm sure you are too). but--it also means dealing with another person.
Your user website idea is cool. I can easily throw something together like
http://enry.mazdamp3.com that points to a website. Quite easy in fact. And people can go in through an admin page and put up pictures, stats, even host their own little version of a message board.
About banners...
If the site would kick off big time and we need to get hardware or pay for hosting, then we'll get banners. But until either of us _needs_ to put up banners (ie, LOSING money by hosting the site), I really don't want to see banners anywhere. Oh, and no popups.. EVER. They are really annoying. I get pissed off whenever I get popups.
Feel free to post this on your webpage and see what your regulars think of the idea.
Lates,

Subject: About MP3 hosting...
Hi, I remember seeing a post when someone mentioned
there was going to be an alternative mp3 site. I knew
it wasn't going to be long before it would happen...
Nice forum, did you lease, pay or??. Are you a
programmer or otherwise skilled in html, coding etc?
You have proposed an attractive offer...free is very
cool...you say "form a partnership" what do you mean
exactly (details)?
About giving people their own website, what
functionality could you offer for the member pages?
The idea is similar to
http://miata.cardomain.com/but
they are using CarDomain.netI was thinking simple
member pages with pics and info linked to registryand
a member search engine would be really cool
Anyway...I will wait for you response to this e-mail
and let you know what I'm thinking...
Later
