MazdaSpeed3 can't be test driven???

Mine was tucked away behind a regular 6 and a rx8 and they moved those cars for me to take it... So they must not wanna sell a car!

As it should be. My belief is if the person regardless of age has the money or financing to purchase the vehicle, they should move as many cars as it takes to allow you to test drive it. When I purchased my SRT-4 it was on the show room, smack in the middle of everything. They moved an SRT-10 Viper, SRT-10 Viper Truck as well as two other cars just to get the SRT-4 out and I didn't even comit to purchasing it yet. So like most are saying, it all depends on the dealer.

oddly enough, I drove a 66k M3 vert when I had my 325 in for an oil change. No questions asked. Went by myself. I drove it in a fashion that would have been frowned on by a passenger.

23k mazda 3 = sorry sir, we need to go with you
66k M3 Vert = sir, this is where the DSC button is. (laugh)

Haha!

He mentioned in another thread he's looking for a " little brother" to his GTO. I'd like to state that I am a little younger than 35 and would also qualify as a little brother if he was looking to purchase a 3rd car. I'd be appreciative. I promise.

Exactly! The GTO's have crazy performance options available to them. Not that you need to but... Zoom Zoom

its not just mazda. my brother went to test a wrx and they wouldnt let him drive without putting some money down????

If a dealer would not permit me to test drive ANY vehicle I was seriously considering purchasing I would tell the dealer to his face to shove the car up his/her ass and walk out.

Having been in car sales, I can understand a dealers skepticism. But most times you can tell if a person is serious. I think they should have let him test drive no doubt.

Lmao. That would have been funny, for sure. However, I did visit a third dealership last night and was able to drive one finally. It was kind of funny, the last dealership I went to was in the least desirable city (for Mazda dealerships in my area anyway) and as soon as I walked in and told them I was interested in the MS3 they couldn't do enough for me. I guess 90% of their clientele come in and either try to get a car for thousands under invoice or just can't qualify. As soon as they ran my credit, it was all go. I actually tried to leave 3 times, but they gave me a sweet deal. Even gave me my asking for a trade in that they haven't even seen yet. I told them I would drive it in tomorrow.

Well, its official, the goat now has an adopted bro to hang with in the garage. I'll post some pics when I get the two washed up and lookin good. Thanks again for the warm reception guys, I look forward to learning more about the car and Mazda in general. Also, this is my first F/I car, so I'm a total noob in this area. My goat's mods are pretty much done, (I've put heads, cam, headers, intake, CAI, and some suspension and brakes). So, the MS3 will be the next to get a few upgrades (of course it will be a good 6 months before I can save up enough for that). I'll be looking to you experts for some guidance. Thanks again.

LAst year when I went in to consider a GTO they wouldnt let me drive it but said I could drive a G6 which is similar, I laughed and told them to go to hell and left.

Well not to mention he tried to tell me my credit score was 650 and I just had it checked at 748 1 week prior so I was pissed they were so full of crap.

With my Mazda I am am different and if I am serious I want to run the numbers first so the sweeetness of the car doesnt cloud my judgement. I did that and then took it for a test drive to be sure I was solid on the deal.

The dealer I bought my Speed3 from let 4 people test drive it before I was able to make it in and pick it up. It was delivered that morning and picked it that that evening aroud 8:00 PM. It wasn't officially my car when it came in, but I had first choice on taking it if I wanted to. One of the people who drove it was a lot boy at the dealership and he did something like 120mph on the 270 loop. So much for breaking it in gently.

That sucks, if i were you I would give that/those sales managers hell. s***, id bypass the sales manger and go right to the dealership manager and let em know that their inept salesforce just lost a sale. The salesman's job is to sell cars. One of their biggest tools they use to do this is the test drive.

i bought my speed3 at the autobarn evanston, I was talking with those guys for about 3 minutes before they offered to let me drive the car ON the showroom floor, I said that wasnt necessary and I drove a car they had in the warehouse.

The best thing that you can do when dealing with sales guys like that is to not do business with them.

I went over to the dealer I ended up buying mine from and they let me test drive with no questions asked.

i didnt even see it before i bought mine... i knew it was there, went and filled out the paperwork, and then saw it and drove it for the first time.

i did my research and knew this was the car for me...

My salesman was so busy he let me take it out by myself hehe. He said take your time and thats what I did.

Yeah it definitely depends on the dealer. I got the first one at the dealer in october, got there 10 minutes before close, and we still went for a 20 mile test drive... no deposit or anything. Maybe it helped that I pulled up in a Z06, but who knows... And I was only 22. Although I just expected this. I got the same treatment for the Z06, and I was only 21! Guy just said lets go! I think everyone is friendlier in the south...

I disagree about the south! Well, actually in florida people are awesome but in south carolina most people suck!
