Mazdaspeed Protge rims

I plan on running the msp rims on my speed3 the specs on the racingharts are 17x7 with a 55 offset i plan on running 235/50/17 on the stock suspension for awhile but will clean up the look a little bit by buying the mazdaspeed lowering spring/camber kit from SU in the future does anyone see any issues running this set up?

No there shouldn't be any issues, that's actually going to be really close to stock and if anything might bring the wheel in a little.

i would like the rims to set flush with the fenders as much as possible would spacers be needed for this? sorry im sort of a noob with suspension

It's somewhere around there. I can't remember exactly. If you take the same width wheel or smaller and use a larger offset, you'll end up taking the whole wheel and moving it closer inside the wheel well. If you take offset out of it, you'll push it out. So a 17x7 wheel with a +35mm offset will sit 20mm farther out than the +55mm offset.

Offset = the distance of the mounting point from the exact center of the wheel with positive offset being towards the outside of the wheel. So as you go closer to 0, you're mounting the wheel farther out from the hub. Some cars with bigger wheel wells can fit negative offset wheels where they're actually mounted past the center point towards the inner half of the wheel.

With the wheel you're talking about, you would need about a 25-30mm offset to make it sit pretty flush with the fender. Or you could use spacers.

You mean the thread where you saw the wheels you're looking at? A -55 would be way to far out, past the fender.

Ya the -55 probably doesn't exist on a 7 inch wheel and if it did, it would probably be for some crazy application. Ya you can use some spacers to push out those wheels, maybe a 10-15mm spacer to be safe but I vote to go for a wider wheel. But I get picking up a set of inexpensive used wheels...nothing wrong with that. If you need spacers, we have them in stock in Eibach and H&R. Check them our here... Wheel Spacers
