MazdaSpeed Protege with MazdaSpeed 6 Brakes

I believe I remember if you flip the rear calipers and use the Left caliper on the right side and vice versa then the ebrake cable will reach and work.

has anyone tried the CX-7/CX-9 front calipers yet? looking at the pictures rear might not work from due to ebrake set up.

I want to know if a stock FC3S caliper will fit on the front since I have all brand new brakes on mine that I am parting out.

From what I hear cx7 has the same front brakes as a speed6 just dual piston(could be wrong there) and the rears are the same too but the rear rotors are vented( could be wrong about that too)

Dodgetech81 told me that the cx7 brakes would not work on the msp. Of course, he also said he could get me ms6 brakes, but that never happened, so who knows if he ever really looked that far into cx7 brakes.

I didn't put them on an MSP, but I put a 6wagon set up on my P5. No problems at all with them bolting up.The problems began when I tried to bleed the rears. With the calipers flipped side to side the bleeder is on the bottom, I could not get them to bleed and put them on their proper side and they of course bled out fine. Now only 1 issue remains that being the e-brake cables. I have noticed that the brake pedal seems "long" maybe it's just me. Has anyone else that has done the conversion noticed this? Maybe a master cylinder from a 6 is needed to remedy the feeling I am getting?

old thread but... does anyone have the link for the centric kit for this conversion or if jdm sams kit if he has the calipers to go along with his conversion kit i might be intrested there too.. but im not sure.

I know this is old, but considering a front brake upgrade.

did anyone get any where with the CX-7 and CX-9 stuff, for 5 lug protege fronts? A few online sources are showing an 11.7" rotor on a '12 CX-7 (smaller than MS6) fronts...but a 12.6" front rotor on a CX-9...so at least the rotor size seems to line up...

And is it still stuck at dealership or junk yard only for the MS6 stuff? I know crossover sells the full front kit for ~$800, but that is still using OE parts... that thing is such a weird car part# wise, i'm getting conflicting numbers even from my local dealership...claiming a MS6 uses the same calipers as any other 6 of that year, just uses different pads and rotors...even picture wise that doesn't seem accurate...the guy just ended up being a dick and said he wouldn't take any more questions without a VIN...funny, as even if i had the vin the answers would still not be right...

so i'm only interested in Mazdaspeed front brakes, not anything related to standard 4 or 6 cylinder Mazda 6's...already have a 'semi-BBK' from years back that uses 11" fronts from a 626 V6, and will keep my MSP rear calipers/rotors with FD RX-7 pads...very happy with the actual braking, and that seemed about the max diameter 17" Rota D2's could take...but i just replaced the wheels with some much lighter Enkei's...and they do look tiny in there now...Not to say i only care about the looks, its just curiosity at this point...and that facker from the dealership made me want to figure all this out haha...

i went to the dealer and got different results from m6 vs ms6 for 06-07' years.. seems like crossover sells the s*** at almost dealer price..

A real bbk kit from aac is just a little more than that $800 actually....

only issue is the crazy offset wheels you need to run or huge spacers.. not to mention only a few cars are actually running that kit so far, the rest are waiting for pieces to install it.
