Looking now
Hey guy's, my name is Marcus. I've always been a big Mazda fan since the Miata, and the Rx7.

Now, the reason I'm posting a question here, is because I need your advice on something.

My next car is going to be a Manual Mazda. However, I'm having a very difficult time trying to locate a Mazda Speed Protege here in Louisville, or around here, that isn't way over priced, or beat to crap.

My next car is going to be a daily driver. I like off the line speed, but it doesn't have to go 0-60 in 2 seconds. Just something fun I can play with, and enjoy myself when I drive. Hoping to spend under 10 g's.

So, do I keep looking for one, or is there another car (no bias) I should try to locate?

If so, what are they, or can I turbo a reg Protege, worst-case?

Love the look of the mazdaspeed protege though, no joke.

Thanks guys, God bless, you're really helping me out here.

I really like mine...I've had a 2003 Black Mica Mazdaspeed Protege since new - over 9 years and almost 85K miles. The maintenance I've had to do on mine is stuff I'd consider routine for a car being driven 10K miles annually - clutch (50K+ miles on the original), rotors/pads, plugs/coils, etc.

If I had to do it all over again, I'd still choose the Mazdaspeed Protege over anything else that was available at that time in the same price range.

The mazdaspeed protege is an amazing car. tons of fun and easy to learn.

Their reliability is strongly related to how much money you throw at it
