Just curious....by listing problems about the car....is it possible to get a cheaper price?? Hell id be damn happy if i got it for 11-12k

No you won't get a cheaper price. You will end up looking like an ass. The dealer doesn't have to sell it to you at the price you want cause you know about the problems. Chances are they know some of them too since the car was probably marginally reconditioned to make it saleable. Even if they don't, you will come off sounding whiny and like you are doing the dealer a favor by taking it off their hands for such a low price.

Keep it professional. Like the others said - make an offer. If he doesn't bite then thank them and take your business elsewhere.

sounding whiny > over paying

I bought my brand new 2003 MSP (11 miles on the odo) on 10/7/03. The dealer, Roger Beasely, had them listed in the newspaper for 15,450. The 2003.5 were commanding a premium.. a little over 16K.

Did I trade a car in? Yes... I traded in my 2002 Honda Accord EX V6 coupe and rolled 3K of negative equity from that loan (relative to what I was given for the trade) into my new note for the MSP

So... yeah... you could get them for cheap.

An MSP, hell no and keep in mind I have been here since long before the MSP was even being designed. It was just shy of $20K. Mazda eventualy allowed for there rebates to be applied to the car and later dealers had to mark them down when they couldn't give them away. Especialy once the SRT/4 came out, you could find one new for around $17K. I don't know anyone that got one that low though without a trade in involved that could have been low balled to make it look like a lower selling price.

Keep in mind that all news paper adds usualy involve some matching down payment BS and all possible rebates. Even the college grad $500 rebate.

i bought mine for 17k brand new. there is no way you should spend 18 on a used one
