The air bag is no big deal. It just pushes the pillar out 1/2 inch (bracket slides) and the air bag comes out from the crack.

sorry I never got back into the thread I unsubscribed. The airbag isnt in the way. you just take out your stock pillar and this one works its way right in there. It stays in place so you dont have to drill it in or anything.

The stock pillar has clips on the back, this one doesnt but it settles right in and does not obstruct the airbag portion.

I would assume if the airbagwent off even with the stock pillar there it would have the same effect. It would just push the pillar away.
