thats what the clunk sounds like yes, but when you get it fixed its all better, but mine still soudns like that, cuz i do really have pieces of crap banging around my trunk
Slug - What exactly did they do to the rear, I've been reading and some get new links, some new ends, and a couple got whole new assemblies (I can't spell).
Cars dont come off the assembly line with the clunk, as its the result of the bushings wearing out. It seems that when driving over bumps or potholes or whatever in colder weather the bushings break down quicker so you may get a lot of miles but not experience the clunk until the winter.
lots of southern owners have never had it
I got mine at like 5k miles or so i believe, had it replaces at 7k, then it was back after only a couple thousand more and i have been tolerating it for like 10k miles since i knew there was no permanent fix yet
So I'm not going there right away, cause it can't be that bad...every time I hear anything back there I'm thinking it's the clunk. I'll wait till after winter or during winter and see if it gets worse.
I didn't think mine was that bad at first either. It does grate on you after a while...apparently MNAO has got a permanent fix coming in the next couple weeks. We'll see about that...my car's going in for the flash, coolant leak, and clunk tomorrow. We'll see how good Modern's service department is.
Fixed flash and tested...said power difference is noticable
Replaced rotors due to warpage (all I said was that it felt like they were warped...)
Fixed Coolant Leak as best as they could (replaced hose per Mazda recommendations)
Replaced Bushings on rear swaybar (ordered yesterday because they did not have)
4 things, done beyond my expectations. And tonight we'll see how she moves...hopefully not like the U2 song (mysterious ways for those who think the U2 is only a plane)
