So far; I am using the Meguiar's 3 Step System (cleaner, polish, wax) on my MAZDASPEED. I really like the results.

Joe is also a fanatic about caring for his Civic Si (as you can see). He uses Meguiar's, also. And; he uses some other excellent products as well.

For the complete album....

I laughed out loud when she wrote that. She's just joking with you. Lots of little "thug" kiddies squat in front of their riced out cavaliers like that. She was just playing with you.

Man, I'll tell you, it's good to have people like you here on the board. You join 3 months ago and you already have almost a 1000 posts. Way to go!

Sorry, got a little choked up there....*sniff*.

Thanks! That was my first application of the Meguiar's 3 Step System. I often apply the Quik Detailer to the front end, however. Especially good after removing bugs with a damp cloth. Great in between waxings. I started about 6:00 am, and finished at around 2:30 pm. It was a nice relaxing day.

I think I will do the complete application about every 3 months. And; maybe apply the Meguiar's paste in between.

Next weekend; my wife's silver Protege ES gets the same treatment.

I just purchased the "California Duster", and plan on using that between washings. Then; applying the Quik Detailer all over the car. Before the pics, Joe applied Zymol's equilavent to the Quik Detailer, to give the Si the nice edge. I detailed mine the evening before.

I have actually heard that polish is detrimental to our paint ... since we have a clear coat finish. (true ? false ?) Anyway, after a good wash, I use Meguiar's wax alone and the shine is as diamond hard as the 3 step process, in my opinion.

But, yes, that Quik detailer is pretty handy :) I go through about a bottle every 2 to 3 weeks ... lol.

Yah, I quik detail right after my car dries. It gives it that added glimmer. I haven't waxed the car yet. I'm thinking of getting a full detail job when spring starts becoming more like spring and less like winter here (Vancouver).

I'd love to wax it myself, but a full days work. Heck, I admit it.. I'm lazy...

All of these Meguiar's car care products are clear coat safe.

Definately false, A polish as it is referred to here (3 step) actually "feeds" the paint polishing oils that nourish the paint and give it depth(deepens your paint color). It is definately clear coat safe. The meguiars wax alone is a carnuba based product that will give your car a nice "GLOW" but, if you have a darker color the #2 or any meguiars pure polish applied before the wax will really improve your results. Using seperate products is really worth the time and effort if you want perfect results.

Since your car is silver you may want to try meguiars goldclass, it is a synthetic wax that will give your silver car more gloss. In other words it will reflect light better. If your paint is in good condition you could skip the polish since your car is silver.

I use all Meguires stuff on my MP3. I do the 3 step system once a year, usually in spring, and then just use the cleaner wax about every two weeks. I recommend using the liquid cleaner wax with a 6 inch orbital buffer, sves ALOT of time and takes out the swirl marks easier. You'll like the results of a obital buffer on that black, trust me. As for the Car duster, stay away. They coat the strings in parafain wax, and it will streak up your nice shiney car. Just stick with regular washings and the Quick detailer. I've been complimented many times on how clean I keep my car. Rule of thumb is to wash it every week, and wax everyother with the cleaner wax, and you'll be happy.

You should try the gold class, so much nicer than the cleaner wax. It is not chalky like the maroon bottle cleaner wax. It is also synthetic so it will last a bit longer. You will throw the cleaner wax away if you try the gold class, trust me!

I'm applying the Gold Class in another week or so. I think I will use it in between the 3 step applications.
