mazdaspeed alignment is probably wrong

I just wanted to let you fellow mazdaspeed owners know that the intended alignment specs for your special car are probably the same as a normal protege. well what's that mean you are probably asking. Before the car goes to the showroom there is something called a PDI or pre delivery inspection, where the mats and a couple fuses are put into the car so its fully functional, this is where the Mazdaspeed protege should get it's custom alignment but due to the demand of the car and the fact that they sell so fast the dealership you bought it from probably didn't do this important step, seeing this happen a the dealership I work at makes me want to educate the rest of you.

the difference is the front and rear toe adjustment
they should be
-1mm +or- 1mm (-0.04" +or- 0.04")
and that is for front and rear toe in, basically just take it to the mazdaspeed dealership that you bought it from and ask them to align the car to mazdaspeed specs they should know what you are talking about and if they say it has been done just ask them to do it again cause it pulls. Then they have no choice

One quick tech note. If you give it about an extra half a degree of total toe OUT, you'll get quicker turn in if you autocross. Don't recommend this for the street as it will somewhat accelerate tire wear and make it more prone to find pavement grooves but it works for the short course stuff.

It is more likely to be right if the dealer EVEN DOES THE PDI!!!! I have this sneaking suspicion (based on how messed up MY MSP was when I got it) that my dealer didn't do a damn thing....

I don't think they just skipped the alignment (although mine was truly ****** (.23deg toe OUT and .45deg toe IN on the two rear wheels!!!!!!) though, I think they skipped EVERYTHING...

But I'm just bitter. I hope other people have had better experiences...

Great info, I was able to geta copy of the pdi page from my dealer, you would have thought I was getting some top secret pentagon document or something! The Mazdaspeed CERTIFIED guy in service told me that their machine was'nt very good and...... I just thanked him for the page and left.

Keep feeding us that dealer info, we need as much as we can get, thanks

Godspeed!
Dave

all dealerships should have it already. It was a TSB sent out about 6 - 8 week ago was it not? I remember Digi168 getting it done ages ago.
