Mazdaspeed 6 Performance Numbers

:
2006 Mazdaspeed 6 Grand Touring & 2004 Mazda 3s (5dr)
Why is it that most of the "car mags" and "car websites" post such poor performance numbers for the Mazdaspeed 6?

I subscribe to ROAD & TRACK magazine and they list the following stats:
0-60mph = 5.9sec
0-100mph = 24.6sec (are they kidding?)
1/4 mile = 14.8 @ 86.4mph
So according to their test results, the MS6 is slower in all numbers than the Chevy TrailBlazer SS. (an SUV! Are they serious?)

Does anyone have true numbers on the MS6?

I've seen the following numbers on
http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/Spec_Gla...6&trimid=-1

0-60 = 5.25mph
1/4 mile = 13.84 @ 99.9mph

After the warranty runs out, I'm looking forward to about 450hp, but I want to know where I'm starting from.

What are everyone else's numbers?

Car and Driver nailed a 14.0 on their mazdaspeed6 in the sport sedans comparo a year or so back. people here have hit high 13s even stock.

I hit a 14.3 @ 95 mph my first time taking the car to the track with a hot ass intercooler.

Interesting. Thanks for the numbers guys.

I wonder how MSN Autos got their numbers:

Road and Track continuously posts slower numbers than other car magazines. They also stated in the Data Panel that the MS6 was using 91 octane on a pre-flashed 2006 ECU. The 06 cars REQUIRED 93. 91 would result in a detuned engine. http://www.roadandtrack.com/assets/download/0603_awd_data_panel.pdf

Car and driver did 0-60 in 5.4 seconds, quarter mile in 14.0@99 mph. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...e:_mitsubishi_lancer_evolution_rs+page-6.html
Motor Trend did 0-60 in 5.8, and I think the quarter at 14.2@96ish (I'm going off of memory on this one)

Stock, I ran 14.0@98, so I say the Car and Driver numbers are right on.

So it would seem that about 5.5 sec. (0-60) and 14 sec. (1/4 mile) are the starting grounds.

Cool, thanks.

when they got the 24 sec to 100 mph they claim that they were using poor quality fuel so they did believe that was the low numbers to 100 mph

Mazdaspeed6 is a High 13sec car. Average is sub-low 14sec 1/4mile times for people though!!

I'm sure with Test pipe and CAI you can run mid 13's easy. From my "ol butt dyno" I noticed a big difference with the PG test pipe in 3rd 4th 5th and 6th gear. Definitely noticeable gains
