I havent tracked the speed 3 yet, but just wondering. I assume that it still under steers ? correct? I mean you can do the scandanavian flick and get it over steer but it doesnt throttle oversteer correct?

and does anyone know what the stock rear sway diameter is?

if it doesn understeer probably have to look into getting an adjustable one

any recommendations?

thanks

i think hotchkis makes some sway bars for our cars, they even have a front sway bar but probably would be a pain.... especially if you have to drop the subframe?

cobb makes sway bars as well.

based on a thread in the other forum, hotchkiss needs a mazdaspeed3 to refit the sway abrs on them.. I wont be buying anything from them until they get it all figured out. That;s kinda scary.

I have the Cobb. It works great.

However, there are other things you need to "fix" before going to the track. First of all, the stock tires SUCK. They overheat too easily and you lose grip rather quickly. The stock brake pads are NOT suitable for track use. Period.

I've been half-assedly looking for an adjustable front camber kit. The car needs it, IMO. If you can get a set of wider wheels/grippier tires you'll have a better time.

Then again, this is from my experience at NHIS, which is very hard on brakes and tires. I didn't get the chance to run Limerock or Watkins Glen, which is a higher speed track not as harsh on tires.

which forum did you see the hotchkis info?
thanks

mazda 3 forums.
Theres a thread asking for a test fitter. I should have said there is "some speculation" that the hotchkiss bars need redesigned.
Something else that was said in the thread was that these bars came out practically before the ms3 came out, so that pretty much says that they were designed originally for the mazda3, and then just carried over ot the mazdaspeed3. Id wait to figure all of this out.

With the cobb bars, we know for 100% sure that they were designed especially for the mazdaspeed3
