Mazdaspeed 3 Floormats 2004-2009 VS 2010-2011

Just bought a Used 2008 MS3. Come to find out there are not floor mats....
So did some poking around to find OEM ones and found they sell of the cloth variety in tow models, by years, it's 2004-2009 and 2010-2011. The problem is the price difference for the 2004-2009 mats vs the 2010-2011 mats is about $25 (newer model being cheaper). Does anyone know if these are the same items. From the pics they look identical. Just don't want to waste my money....

I believe they are different, but your best bet is to stop by your local dealer to see if they'll let you look at the new ones; unless someone here that has both cars tries it out for you really quick.

They are NOT the same, all the mats are different shaped. For the 2010 model the drivers mat is shortened as well with different mounting holes for the hook, while the passenger mat has holes for passenger mounting hooks on both sides (two holes), where the 1st gen MS3 does not. So they CAN fit if you force them to (I tried), but they dont look right since they are either too big in some areas and too small in others. The difference in the 2010 mats is that there is a subtle (I mean VERY subtle, only one thread - I wish they made it more) stitch of red that goes around the mat that makes it look a bit sportier, and the passenger mat doesnt have rubber heel guards anymore.

In short don't get the 2010 mats for your 1st gen MS3 - spend that $25 extra to get mats that fit properly. Even the rears arent the proper fitment
