mazdaspeed 3 engine problem

Just installed headers(ProtegeGarage Tubular Turbo Manifold) and I got on it a little in 1st gear. Hit only 5 pounds of boost then it cut back throttle and the car almost died when i pulled over. I turned the car off and looked at the engine and everything to check and make sure i hooked it all up right and i did. Then i drove home and it drove fine, but i kept boost under 2psi the whole time. If you have any idea what it could be please let me know. Does the ECU just need time by any chance to get used to it?

My currents mods are CPE CAI, cobb inlet pipe, turbo xs downpipe, test pipe, cat-back, manual boost controller(boost only at 16psi), and of course the headers now.

Check for exhaust leaks at the manifold to turbo flange. Your car should not have any problems with it and should run fairly normal.
Check for leaks on all of your piping, exhaust, intercooler and intake. Reset the ECU.
Also how cold is it right now where you are located?

It could be a cold weather related fuel cut, but typically you would see that at higher boost then 5psi
