Mazdaspeed 3 CAI

Yeah, the real pisser about it was he kept insisting that was the case after I told him I work on BMWs and our 335i (the BiTurbo inline six) performs exactly the same when it's high pressure pump (Which makes the Mazda one seem utterly bulletproof, fyi) is starting to take a crap. (confused)

As far as the air filter cleaner, both parts & service departments had no idea what the part # was for the cleaning kit. I was half tempted to give them the part # next time I'm in the area.

It's a shame, because the sales department was pretty cool when I got it and the owner is a great guy (He got involved on the deal because of the nightmare it ended up being getting a Cosmic Blue GT).
 
i dont have time to read this whole thread right now so quick q. if you purchase the air straightener for the ms cai would that solve the lean out problem with the check engine light. im so tired of that light going on and off every couple hundred miles. its annoying as hell.


p.s. i was told the check engine light usually happens during idle and thats when the code is thrown?
 
Just installed the Air Straightener for the Mazdaspeed CAI this past weekend which was easy and took a total of 5 minutes. I did not have any CEL issues before the straightener but the car does run richer with the CAI as opposed to the stock intake. I have however noticed that the car does not Surge randomly at WOT like it used to before the Air Straightener, hope this helps.
