Mazdaspeed 3 6-cd changer upgradable for sport?

The CD player in my GT does not play MP3's. As far as I know none of them do. They do show one in the manual but I think it is meant for regular 3's since they use the same manual.

Nope. None of the US 3's come with a CD/Mp3 player standard, it is a dealer only option. Assumption is what has ended up with a great deal of people being pissed off as mazda has been advertising the HU as "Mp3 capable" since it has an aux input.

When I picked up my car I asked one of the employees about the MP3 CD thing...after reading the owner's manual for several minutes we concluded that...the manual is very confusing and misleading. My MS3 sport does not play MP3 cds...it "plays" the track but no sound comes out. I'll probably have to shell out $$ to the dealer eventually to get MP3 compatibility. Lame.

I will let you know. The "freebie" is the CD Cahnger itself - upgraded because I politely asked them to since it and the BOSE system were mistakenly listed on the window sticker of my Speed 3 Sport and I thought it was there when I bought the car. They kicked in $120 in gift certificates as well.

I just got my MS3 back from the dealer with the new "CD changer/mp3 non Bose" PN BS0A-79-EGX that Mazda USA paid for because of the window sticker error. It plays mp3 files on a CD-R Damn, 6 CD-Rs with 20+ CDs worth of music each - that's a lot of music. Mazda gave me a $700 gift certificate to cover it, which it almost did - I happily forked over $26 extra. It takes an additional trim piece PN BS3F-79-BGX as well
