Mazda's Paint Sucks

I've heard people talk about mazda paint issues...esp with the yellow...

Currently (knock on wood) mine isn't too bad...a few nicks...but my bumber seems decent.

Hey, Roswel, I figured out what is wrong with your paint! It's too BLUE!!!

Cancel your appointment - I fixed it:

I have one little 2 or 3 mm chip at the tip of the front hood. But I think the dealer might have done that when I brought it to have services because it wasn't there before. fortunately it's so small I can just use touch up paint.

I noticed last week that there is a small spot on the hood that is no longer yellow. I put my hand on the hood and notice this is the hot spot on the hood.
My car just turned 4 years old.

what'd he say?

i only ask because if the rep admits fault in your case it could be cannon fodder for the rest of us! than we can all have free paint jobs!!!!!

All cars get chips and stuff from normal road travel. Why should it be Mazda's job to fix it? The only time car companies are going to take on mass paint repair is like GM did in the 80's when the paint just fell off of the primer they used on some cars. That was horrid. You can still see many GM vehicles from that era driving around with their primer proudly showing.

i remember that late 80's my father had a grand prix that had lots of trouble with that, it was an 88...

hah....if i took pictures of all the little chips and black spots, and some tiny rust spots from the chips, im sure you can relate.......really cheap F***ing paint. im going to a huge meet at the coconut creek mazda down in florida on the 8th now and hopefully talk to a rep there

The rep just looked at mine today. He said too bad, it is from road debris and is normal. My car is only 3 months old and I have at least 20 bad chips randomly on the side panels. They are not helping me at all. I am going to go up the ladder.

I recently got into a car accident and the mazda dealership collission and body shop center repainted my front bumper and gave me a new hood and painted it. That was about 3 and a half months ago and i already have 3 chips on the hood, and a nice deep but small chip in the bumper.

Oh and i have over-spray on my windshield and all my side windows. The repairs are great but the paint is chipping....

My mom owned a 90's mazda and she had the same problems with her red paint like my car. chipped very easy and faded quick.
