Thank you. I'm thinking of bying lowering springs, but here in Norway the rules of carmodifications are very strict. The springs have to be TV approved to be legal and because of this there are only springs the lower the car 30mm available :( I can't use parts from Mazda 3 because all cars have to go through a mandatory check every two years and it would fail if I use these parts. The roads here in Norway are not "lowered car" friendly either so I'm caught in the middle between good looks and driveability. For now I choose driveability.

The hood and front bumber was resprayed 6 months ago, before the winter set in. I haven't noticed the colordifference much before I took these pictures today, but it looks really bad in some of the pics I took. It's weird because it was done at my local Mazda dealer. I guess I have to talk to them about this :(

Thought I'd post a picture of my Mazda 5 with my new CX-7 rims. 225/45-18 Dunlop Sport tire (stock on european Mazdas I think). Picture taken from inside my house.

I want those roof rack rails. Do you have any way of finding out the part code for them? They're not offered as any option or accessory here in the U.S.

I looked at the options catalogue of the 2011 Mazda 5 wich I think has the same roof rails but I couldn't find it there. The rails where stock on my Mazda 5 so I don't have any part number/code for them. Now they only offer them as option. If I remember I will send an e-mail to my Mazda dealer tomorrow and see if they can give me the part code.

I was thinking of going with these 5zigen ProRacer ZR520s...

18x7.5s, +37 for the rears (extends 28mm out) and +47 for the front (extends 18mm out), I know it's weird going with a sorta staggered setup but I want to have both wheels have the same amount of flushness compared to the top of the wheel well/fender. Tires will be 225/40R18 Continental Extreme ContactDW asymmetric, just so I can rotate side to side. Front tires will wear faster than rears, but I can remount mid life.

I like these rims quite a bit so far but I'll look at other rims too to see if I like anything better.

16" "Sport Edition F-10" wheels from Tire Rack:

205-55-16 Goodyear Ultra Grip tires (worked great the first winter, not so much the next so they're summer tires now)

THese look nice (to me anyway) were cheap and not especially heavy, especially compared to the stock 17's. Mine were bent and the tires were really expensive so off they came.
They clear the rotors with plenty of room to spare, I was worried that downsizing would be tricky but these fit just fine.

I like the look of smaller wheels filling up the wheelwells rather than giant wagon wheels that aren't very wide. Which probably makes me old, or just out of style.

And yeah I know the car is filthy, I drive it 60 miles each way to work, and part of that is on gravel roads so it's not clean pretty much ever.

A quick visual comparison of 18" vs 16" wheels... at the same time!!
I need to finish rolling the rear fenders, because right now, the rear tires still rub wearing the 18" RX8 rims with 225/45R18 Kuhmo Ecsta LX Platinum tires.

I need help!!

I have the mazda 5 and were I live is so terrible, tropical island with many holes in the streets, everybody (guys) use big wheels or rims, so I though it was going to be a good buy I got a great deel, the thing is I've been changing the wheels every 5 or 6 months because of the big rims and very bad conditions streets, I work in it, and the problem had become not very cost-efective due to the high prices on the wheels. My question is, is it possible that I could change the rims for smaller ones to get bigger and thicker wheels?? If I could, wich rims could I use?? Thanks =) and excuse my english is not perfect lol.(sad1)
