Thanks to the help of this forum, and Antoine in particular, TrueDelta has another set of reliability survey results for the Mazda5. For those who don't care for the details, I'll provide the short report:

The repair rate has improved substantially since I first started providing results for the Mazda5, so that it is now better than average. This suggests that after some initial issues when the 2006s were new, most commonly a clunk in the front suspension, they have required few repairs.

Now for the details.

The latest TrueDelta Vehicle Reliability Survey results have been posted. These are for the year ending December 31, 2007.

For the 2006 Mazda5, we received an average of 6.3 months of data on 30 cars. The stat of 44 successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year (0.4 per vehicle) is the same as three months ago, and better than average for a 2006 model.

For the 2007 Mazda5, I have an average of 7.2 months of data on 14 cars. This is an insufficient sample size, so the result is asterisked. The stat of 36 successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year (0.4 per vehicle) is better than average for a 2007 model. Though the sample size is small, the similarity to the result for the 2006 suggest that it is reasonably accurate.

Everyone who has been helping out with this research, thanks, it literally wouldn't be possible without you. Those who aren't yet helping out, please consider doing so. It would be nice to get rid of that asterisk for the 2007 and also include the 2008.
