Mazda3 S Dome/Map Overhead Lights

So a little while ago I got my car back after getting into an accident, ><, and it turns out they forgot to reinstall/plug-in the overhead map lights. It's been getting to me lately not being able to see very well in the car at night, and I'd really like to do this on my own (this is my first experience with touching the insides of my car).
Does anyone have an idea as to where I can find the wiring? Perhaps there is already a tutorial on this but I couldn't find any.

The wiring for the dome/maplight (at least on the 5-door) goes up the driver's side C-post behind the paneling. I'm not sure about the sedan, but imagine that they wouldn't change the wiring layout too much between the different models.

Is it just the maplights or is it the dome lights too?

Just the two map lights that are on the sunroof panel. My mistake btw, it is the 5-dr. Thank you though! Is the wiring is in the same place they show for the How To: Sunroof always on?

Okay, if it's just the map lights then it might be the harness right at that panel that's unplugged.

The entire maplight section comes loose and is held on by some pretty stiff metal clips on either side. Grab either side of the panel with your fingertips and pull down. You might have to do one side and then the other. Another option is cover the head of a flat head screwdriver (so you don't scratch the plastic) and use that to pry down each side.

Once you have it down check to make sure the harness is plugged in. Also make sure the bulbs are good (they pull out of the back of the panel) while you're up there.

Excellent! I was trying to get that whole panel down earlier but it seemed like it might want to stay up there Didn't want to do anything without knowing it was safe. Thanks~!

if you slide a plastic spatula in from the side and push firmly it will compress the clip making it easier to come out-it is very stiff.

I managed to get the it out. Turns out after, when they replaced the roof, they sort of squished the cord into the ceiling lining and it made a dent lol. I never would have imaged that was the problem.

So does it work now or did the "dent" permanently damage the wire?

Oh yes it works thankfully Now I just have to worry about it raining since they magically lost the bolt that holds on one of the windshield wipers lol. Nice icon btw that's hilarious.
