Mazda3 problem

Hi,

I just joined the forum and am looking for some help with a dashboard problem on my Mazda3.

Anyway, I have a Mazda3 05 plate (UK) and have had intermittent problems with a light appearing on my dashboard. It it the orange light with the car and slippery tracks.

I first noticed it a couple of years back when it came on a couple of times out of the blue. It disappeared though after a second or two. My dealer checked it out on service and found nothing wrong.

It came back again recently but again disappeared after switching the engine off and re-starting. Again it only happened a few times, during cold weather.

Yesterday, it came back and switching on and off the engine makes no difference. It is summer here and the light is on permant.

Any ideas before I take it in ?

Thanks for any help.,

Sheepiestar.

yes that light is for the traction control did you try to push the button to the left of steering wheel and see if the light goes off.

Does the light say "TCS Off", or is it a picture of a car with squiggly lines behind the tires?

If it's the latter, it could be a wheel sensor going bad, telling the computer that the car is skidding.

If it's the former, you need to push the traction control button to make the light go off.

hi sheepiestar, ive just got the same problem, the button no longer works to switch it on and off, let me know if you find a cure for the problem, ill do the same.
hi blackcherry, ill have a look at the wheel sensors if i can find them, what do they look like, and are they easy to get to, does anything need resetting after.
thanks
ps. dont know if there all the same in the uk, but my button is on the right side of the steering wheel and it says dsc off(not sure what it stands for, something skid control?)
