Hawk HP+ pads are installed and at last I have decent braking..they are perfect for fast road and trackday use but a bit noisy for every day driving which is ok for me.Best brake pad I've ever had on the car.

Are the Hawks good? I thing about these for my track-miata

For a track only car I would suggest something more hardcore (xp10,ds3000,etc), the HP+ is a very good pad for daily driving and trackdays.I will buy it again because it's perfect for what I need it, abit better than the Mintex 1144 that I had before.

Some recent trackday action.Another video will be uploaded soon with the best laps of the day.

Hallo Solid, I'm from Athens.

The car still runs strong after 128.500km, I'm having lots of fun with it without any major problems.!

I decided to upgrade my brakes because it is currently the weakest point of the car. The stock brakes with Hawk HP+ and RBF600 fluid had very good bite and stopping power but started to fade after 2-3 laps on the track or on a downhill mountain course.
The first choice was to use Mazda fc-fd 4pot calipers with custom brackets and Mx5 Sport 275mm rotors. The other choice was to use the new Fiesta ST brakes with 278mm rotors. I found a set of Fiesta brakes in good condition and went for it.

Comparison with the stock rotors-pads:

In order to install the brakes I had to make a ring for the rotors to make the center hole 55mm from 63.5mm. I also had to drill the rotors with 4x100pcd instead of the 4x108 which Ford has.

There are still some things to be done in order to install them on the car.!
