Mazda2 1.5 - Greece

Hi VDS,

Don't want to sound negative, but there's something you might want to look at. If the shoulder straps are mounted too low in the back, people have experienced compression of the spine in a frontal accident.

I don't have the specifics of the best location.

John

Hi.The shoulder straps are angled within the limits set by takata in the manual, you can't tell the real angle from this photo.

Vagelis...sure sorry for all the trouble you and your countrymen (and women) are going through right now(sad2)

Things are not good in my country, especialy for young people that are about to start their life, find a job and make family.
We hope it gets better soon.

Anyway, the best way to clear our mind and escape routine is driving the 2 on the track...I had lots of fun and I enjoyed the car 100%.!

Nice thread vdsracing. Hope everything gets better with the changes coming and enjoy your trackdays.

Today I got my ecu tuned on the dyno.

There was a 10hp power gain and 1,5kgr of torque at the wheels. Also, the torque curve was very good especially at mid rpm.

Rev limiter was set at 7000 real rpm(7400 at the stock revmeter). When we set it to 7200rpm(real) a noise was heard from the engine and then we got back to 7000 and keep it this way.I have no idea where this noise was coming from, maybe the valve springs are too soft(?).

I will do a test with the Performance Box to see what is the difference in acceleration.

looking forward to new Performance Box figures!
what do the japanese characters on your front doors mean?

I did the performance test today.Same location, same car weight but lower temprature than the last time.

Before the ecu tuning:

0-100 8.6s
0-400 16.28 @ 136km/h

After the ecu tuning:

0-100 7.9s
0-400 15.7 @ 139km/h

Neat.

When you have a chance, could you tell us about the ECU reflash? What type of system was used and how did they do it?

Much appreciated,
John
