MAZDA xB!!! WTF.

Those boxy-type of vehicles are all the rage in Japan. This Mazda in particular is Mazda's 4th best selling model in the Japanese market (ahead of the Axela/Mazda3 - albeit by only a bit).

Thus, Toyota/Honda/Mazda all need them in their lineup. The only difference is that Toyota actually brought it to the US market with the Scion badge. While this bodystyle is very new to N. America, it's a very big market in Japan.

Yup yup.

I'm especially fond of the Nissan Cube:

i saw the cube at the auto show a couple years back. kicks the crap out of the xb or element.

its so completely square.

That cube does kick ass compared to the others...i'd still never consider owning one.

Anyone have pics of the Honda version (if it exists)? And I'm not talking about the element. Does Honda have something smaller, based on a car platform?

it's a cube, litterally.
I saw it earlier this year... it's so funny looking... not my bag, but you can tell they put lots of work into it... nice little fine details

Yeah...the most popular one is the Suzuki Wagon R (which looks almost exactly like the Mazda...hmmm) I'd say "k" cars like these are the most common sight on the roads...they even have "k" trucks all over the place...these types of vehicles are really common and cheap in everyway...but they do have a bit of charm I must say...there are some nice modified ones running around...

* Honda makes this tiny minture VAN that has a turbo option and I believe it's a mid engine setup! It's pretty cool looking I think...:p

Get out the '80's beat machine and sing to the blips and tweets... It's the 80's... DO a lot of coke and vote for ronald reagan...

I feel like it's the 80's again with the sharp corners on everything. But yea, every car company seems to be selling some sort of box.

In the US, they are just doing it in the form of Hummer H2's and in Europe they have the G - series *shudder"

The xB at least get's good mileage and costs < 20K

I wonder if Renault will be coming back with the cleo

my neighbor's gotta Nissan Cube. I think he got one though because he works at the Nissan company.. the car's pretty sweet!

Honda is going to bring theirs into the US to compete against scion and to have something under the civic pricewise.

The Honda Fit (it's not like the xB though, more like the xA,Toyota Yaris and Mazda2 competitor).

Edit: I originally made it appear as if the Scion xA is the same as the Yaris
