Mazda vs. Honda vs. whoever else

Fair enough. In retrospect lets look at what Nissan is doing.

Trying to shoehorn that 3.5 litre V6 into EVERYTHING!? I swear, I'm waiting on the Nissan Sentra 3.5 OMGT...

But yea, Nissan did something radical and put a lot of work into making nice cars they thought people would buy, and as a result a lot more people are getting Altima's, Maxima's and Infinitis. Before that, people were just giggling at the name trend.

I still gripe at them using a Solid rear axle in the sentra tho. I don't care if you put a 2.5 turbo in it... it's still a little drag car a-la mustang 5.0, and at least the mustang had RWD.

You're right. Honda and Toyota have been battling eachother for so long and so worried about what the other is doing that Nissan is catching them fast and Nissan has already passed Honda.

But I still think that despite newer models that Honda and Toyota still manage to put out reliable products.

But to be fair Petey, I driven Toyotas and Hondas and they suck to drive. I don't like driving them because I drive cars pretty aggressively (tight into the corners and quick acceleration). If I was a cruiser as a driver, I'd probably be cool with their cars, but they suck for how I drive. Of all the cars I have test driven since looking for a new car (one the provides considerably more economy then the 17 mpg Explorer and 20 mpg 929 that I've been driving since I was 16) the Mazda3 was just the BEST FOR ME. I plan to buy one soon and I can't wait.

And to be fair, my mom absolutely adores the new corolla. And she's been driving the venerable 1994 accord EX since, well, 1994.. the worst problem being leaky A/C and door locks that wonkified when someone tried to break into it.

I dunno, I think it looks like the mini GX35. I am also not a fan of counting the specs before they are released. Yes, it looks neat, but I have seen too many neat cars either become scrapped or become so reformatted for production it wasn't worth it. The only vehicles that flew off the concept straight into production as envisioned were a set of abhorrent crossover SUV's... namely the aztek and the element.

The car I am actually most excited about is the Pontiac Solstice. Namely because its finally a RWD peppy roadster that did not succumb to the "it must be fun, therefore it cannot cost less than 25,000" theory of RWD peppy roadsters. That, and they just dropped a bigger engine in rather then trying to spank hampsters like in the S2000, Miata, and MR-2. It's gonna hit you where it counts: insurance ^_^.
