I visit Okayama International Circuit on occasion and I noticed a new (to me) addition to the Sponsor lineup…Mazda Spirit Racing which was cool to see…
This was early on so the stands were not full yet but they definitely filled up by the time the race began…Actually I’ve never seen so many people there (not a surprise though as Super GT is the premier domestic racing series). Mazda definitely got a lot of exposure on race day! Unfortunately though, I believe there are no Mazdas currently racing in the series.
Here you can see the straightaway full of race cars (split into two classes, GT300 and GT500) and the stands full of fans…
Here are a few more pics from the other side during the race…
I hope this means Mazda is getting more involved in motorsports. Can’t wait to see more, bring it on Mazda!
Ps…I’m still a fan of the “old” Mazdaspeed name, sad to see that go…
