Mazda Speed5 Project!

OK, if "boost!" is needed, why not just install a turbocharger or
a supercharger?

If a six-speed transmission is needed, why not just install one?

Why go to the trouble of changing the entire drive train?

I'm on this line of thinking also. It comes from the amount of work the "other guys" went into with wiring and electrical issues. Seems easier to just throw on a tweaked Tri-Point turbo kit with some rods/pistons and the MS3 trans. Save all that work on the electrical. But then again it appears creature comforts and a stock instrument cluster isn't that important here.

The "other guys" were some community college kids (no offense), know nothing magazine writers and maybe some half hearted support from Mazda corporate. These guys appear to know their game - I think this will be a much more integrated effort, but we won't know until they are done.

More pics!!! Car is leaving to go to body shop to get interior painted so we had to get engine bolted in and dash in and threw some wheels and suspension on!!!

i am with you on the aftermarket turbo kit.... plus the DISI can only really make up to 400 hp due to fueling issues... ive seen a boosted, built mzr motor pushing 500HP+ so i think for REAL power the mzr is the way to go, but if thats not what you guys are looking for then the DISI is a good motor still

This is really coming along in a short period of time. Keep the updates coming.

yay for keeping the stock wheels!

now get some better rubber on them though!

you going to do any special hood? something needs to feed the tmic.

Please check out Paint Solutions, Inc.'s page on Facebook to see the interior paint job pictures for the Mazda Speed5 Project. I tried to post pictures on the forum but I was having trouble with the size/quantity of them. Thanks!
