mazda speed cams?

yeah so whats up with mazda speed cams? I saw them on, some site the other day and was wandering what the deal is. I have a msp and was wandering what difference it would make if I got them both? has anyone put them on their protege yet? any model? someone tell me whats up.

They are very mild and aren't going to show much of a gain without tuning with a standalone or piggyback. You'd be better off getting custom cams ground, yet tuning will still help you realize the full potential.

Mazdaspeed is one word. Also the exhaust cam is Mazdaspeed. The intake cam is just a stock FS-ZE cam.

I bought both and installed both. No noticeable gains. I am not expecting to see any gains until I get the piggy back installed and my cam gears adjusted just right. If you are planning on just slapping them in, you won't notice a thing. I agree with the custom ground cams. More money but you get what you pay for. These cams are just too mild. I bought them both from shaneracing.com

I have them I a noticed quite a gain. If you had the cam gears installed at the same time, improper tuning of them could have negated any gains made by the cams. Not huge gains but DEFINATELY noticable.

Hmm, actually.. I adjusted the the gears and put in the new cams before doing a test run. Then later adjusted the cam gears back to zero cuz couldn't hold an idle with the adjustment (going to take care of that later) But noticed that the power went back to the stock feel. You may be right that it could be noticeable, and I just didn't realize it because adjusting the cam gears has QUITE and impact on performance (a very nice impact indeed). But as far as the mazdaspeed cams are concerned, if you can get a great deal on them, by all means, go for it. I paid WAY too much for mine.

I just need the Mazdaspeed Exhaust cam. I used to have the FS-ZE in my MP3, and still have the JDM intake cam installed in my car now. I wonder what this will do for my boosted ride!

Hmm. be sure to check around and read forums on that. I have read some not so good stuff with turbo and cams. I have seen a couple Threads titled cams+turbo=boom.. be careful
