Mazda remote start on a 5 speed?

Has anyone tried to install a mazda remote starter on mazda3 sport with a 5 speed? I'd like to use the mazda remote because I like the remote better than the aftermarket ones. If not has anyone installed their own remote starter?, and did you need a spare key to get the steering column transponder to work?

Can be done. Need to deal with clutch bypass and interlocking to prevent it from starting when in gear.

Given that if the install isn't done right someone could be badly hurt, you would be be better off buying a 3rd party remote start. You can get ones that that use the existing remote and that are designed for manual trannies.

yeah mazda's oem one as far as i know if for a/t only. i am sure there is a way to figure it out but save yourself a headache and get a 3rd party remote started and have it installed professionaly its worth the money as those things are a b**** to install... (trust me)
